Our meetings are held every Tuesday evening at 7pm in the Scout Center.
Check this out…
EAGLE SCOUT COURT OF HONOR
Congratulations are in order for our very own Troop 401 Boy Scouts, Peter Kemme, Bobby Donelon and Christopher Moran. These Scouts successfully completed their Eagle Board of Reviews.
The Eagle Court of Honor was held on Saturday Nov. 29, 2008 at St. Angela Merici. We had over 100 friends and families of these young men. It was a nice evening of celebration and fellowship with our Boy Scout family.

THE SCOUT OATH
On my Honor, I will do my best, to do my duty, to God and my Country, to obey the Scout Law, to help other people at all times, to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight.
THE SCOUT LAW
A Scout is Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean and Reverent.
The Outdoor Code
As an American, I will do my best to -
Be clean in my outdoor manners. Be careful with fire.
Be considerate in the outdoors.
I will treat public and private property with respect.
I will use low-impact methods of hiking and camping. I will prevent wildfire.
I will build my fires only where they are appropriate.
When I have finished using a fire, I will make sure it is cold out.
I will leave a clean fire ring, or remove all evidence of my fire.
I will treat the outdoors as a heritage.
I will take care of it for myself and others
I will keep my trash and garbage out of lakes, streams, fields, woods, and roadways.
and
Be conservation minded
I will learn how to practice good conservation of soil, waters, forests, minerals, grasslands, wildlife, and energy.
I will urge others to do the same.
THE SCOUT MOTTO
Be Prepared.
THE SCOUT SLOGAN
Do a good turn daily.

Place a young boy,
Bright and shining with God’s grace,
Into a free and hopeful nation.
Add a large helping of mother’s love,
And a touch of father’s, too.
A full measure of Scoutmasters’ patience and generosity,
Kindness and care from Assistant Scoutmasters
Camaraderie and friendship from a number of boys,
And support and help from their parents;
Plenty of assistance and encouragement
From family, friends, and community.
A kind word in a moment of doubt,
A gentle reprimand in a moment of weakness,
A helping hand, a guiding thought,
Understanding and forbearance, in full measure.
Immerse for years
In a Scouting atmosphere,
Warming thoroughly with
Good examples on every side.
When done,
Decorate with badges,
And serve to the world

PARENT CORNER
Check out this link to a pretty interesting talk show on raising boys in todays world. It gives an interesting insight into this important task. It is an interview on the Diane Rehm show with the author of the book "Boys Adrift", on National Public Radio. Give it a listen.
